At a meeting of the Exhibition Commissioners and Agents—General, Sir Obaa. Tuppec presiding, hearty votes of thanks were passed to the Prince of Wales for the deep interest he bsd taken in the Exhibition, to Sir Conliffe-Owen aecretary, for the services he had rendered in connection with the Exhibition and to the people of England for the Cordial welcome they had extended to the colonial visitors and the generous hospt* tality with which they bad treated them daring their visit. The announcement is now made that Russia has threatened to occupy Bulgaria unless the officials who plotted against Prince Alexander, the late ruler of the province, and who are now suffering imprisonment be released. The Russian Government has intimated its willingness to recognise any Prince who may be chosen by the Sobranje. provided Russia is permitted to direct the foreign policy of Bulgaria, and that the Bulgarian army be officered by Russians.
