CORN EXCHANGE.

The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Nov. 5 There is extremely little business being transacted in the grain and produce line. Orders for shipment, which are small ana limited in number, are chiefly drawn from shippers’ stocks in store. The weather has been aT that could be desired for the past few weekg, and pne and all are looking forward for its continuance for the great carnival. Wheat has a firm market for limited parcels. The loc <1 millers are generally at hand readj to replenish their light stocks, Pearl being most wanted at to 4s 6d ; Tuscan is readily saleable at 4s 51, and Hunter’s white at 4s 4d to 4s 5d ; second quality ranges from 4s Id to 4s 3d; and chicken wheat 3s 8d to 3a lOd. Oats continue very dull. Few orders are coming to hand* and a further decline must be expected, as the season advances, Mill ng, however, are not plentiful at 2a 5d ; short feed are held for 2s 2d to 2s 3d, and Danish and Tartars for Is lld to 2 sjd. 1 1 ' , E Tley has had more trade, several buyers being iu the maafeet for moderate quantities ; consequently parcels of fair malting have changed hands at 2s 9d .to 2s Ud ; feed is quiet at 2s 4d to 2s sd. Beans and pors have no enquiry. Qras< Seeds,—This season may be said to have closed, and quotations now must be considered nominal Machine-dressed, 5s to 5s 3d ; farmers’ parcels, 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; cocksfoot, prime heavy seed, 4d. Potatoes—Very little is doing in the tuber. Local demand is small, and there is no prospect for shippers. Prices remain at 20s at country stations, sacks extra Dairy Produce —Butter is quiet at 7d for (he best in tubs. Cheese has a fair trade enquiry for small sizes at 5Jd to 6d ; larger makes range from 4Jd to 6d. The above prices are given for delivery f.o.b. Lyttelton, except potatoes, which are at country stations •
