INQUEST ON CAPTAIN CAIN

Tima.hu, November 4. The limy of Captain Cain was exhumed at 8 o’clock, and the inquest started at II before the Coroner, Mr Ceawick, and a jury of six. Hall was in the habit of visiting the house in the mornings and evenings during the last five or six weeks i f the Captain’s fatal illness, Mrs Newton, Cain’s daughter, was in the house and sat up late when Hall »at up all night with deceased, | Witness never saw Hall giro spirits or wine to Captain Cain. Denis Wren, gardener to Captain Cain corroborated the last witness as to Hall’s visits. Dr Drew gave evidence to the effect that he visited Captain Cain the day before his death and found his pu se strong. Witness was suprised to hear of Captain Gain’s deith next day. The Court then ad jiurned for luncheon.
