The manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company reports as follows of the local market : —Wheat is difficult of sale at a slight reduction, 5s to 5s id ; barley shows no improvement, 3s gd to 4s 3d ; oats (feed sorts), for which there is a moderate enquiry, are selling at 3s to 3s 3d. The demand for oats (milling sorts) is irregular, 3s 3d to 3s 4d ; New Zealand oats, under bend, 2s 4d to 2s 6d. MELBOURNE WOOL SALES. Goldsbrough and Company held their usual weekly wool sale this afternoon. There was a large attendance of Home and foreign buyers, competition being animated; 3500 bales were offered and, 3000 were sold. Superior greasy wool sold up to is per lb, good washed fleece realised ARRESTED. Stoddart Campbell, the defaulting teller of the Bank of Australasia, was arrested at j o’clock p.ra. yesterday.
