On Monday night a sailor named John Carnegu, of the schooner Owakea, rescued a lad named Tiagey from drowning. The boy had fal'en from the wharf and was jest sinking fast when attention was called to it and Carnegu jumped overboard as be was and succeeded in getting hold of him. When ashore the lad was a r, ou restored to consciousness. Manawatu Railway. Wellington, November 3.
