AN IMMENSE RESERVOIR.
The cipacity of the new reservoir that is being built for New York will be thirtytwo times greater than the present one in the Central Park. The entire Croton River Is arrested and imp iaonei to supply it. The dam is 1350 feet across, 250 feet in thiokneap at the base, 270 feet iu height, forming a lake of 3600 superficial acres, backing up the water, and filling up the valley foe sixteen miles, averaging eighty feet in depth for the entire length. There is and has been no eservoir in the world to compare with It.
