Macpherson, Sampson and Co. report on the Cherteey stock sale on Monday, 11th September:—The entry for the day was slightly under the average, there being only from 900 to 1000 sheep yarded. There was a line of very nice crossbred wethers and one of hoggets offered, as well as several other lines of various kinds, but none of the sheep were disposed of by auction The business of the day was confined in this department to the placing of one line of hoggets privately at 8s 4J. In cattle there were only a few well-f amel three year old steers that sold at £3 15s The business of the day was decidedly quiet, and buyers were few and apathetic. No pigs were entered, and onR one 2-year-old gelding sold at £5 sa. Macpbers n n, Sampson and Go. report on their weekly sde at the Central Auction Mart on csa ; nrday, the 9th September. The att mdanos for the week was better than for seme t me back, bat the want of momy prevented much business being done. Horse, £5. 'lhere was ft couple of nice heifers and a springing cow offered, but bad to be passed in, not reaching the reserves. Pigs—Porkers, 6s, 6i 31, 6s 6d ; calves, Is each. Produce —Short Tartars, 2a Id per bushel ; chickwheat 10s 6d par sack ; straw chaff, £2 10s per ton. Potatoes—Darwents, 4a 3d, 4) 9d, 5a 3d, 5a 6d per sack ; Bath kidneys, 6a 6d per IOOIbs. H«ms. 6Jd pet lb ; 1 second band spring trap, £l6. Sundries sold aa usual.
