SUPPOSED ARREST OF PENN Sydney, October 11

The prisoner was brought be fire the Mai/iitrate on a charge of murdering »a seitler named Taylor at Great Barrier Island, and remanded for a week. A man and a woman, supposed to be Penn, Oaffrey’a accomplice, and Lizz'e Graham, the woman who was taken from the Barrier Island have been arrested at Kempsoy-town on the McCleary river, 580 miles to the northeast of rydney. The prismata wore brought-up at the local Police Court, and were remanded until to-morrow Wellington, October 11. Colonel Whitmore, Commissioner tf Constabulary, to-day received a cable message from Sydney, stating that Peon, Caff ey’a ace mplioa in the Great Barrier murder, and the wcmiu Lizzie Graham, who was Known to have sailed with the murderers in the ouiter Sovereign of the Seas, have been arrested in New South Wales Auckland October 11. Det ctiva Tuoh> and Constable McKay leave for Sydney to bring back Oaffroy, Penn, and L’ZZ'Q Graham. Tu by was at the inquest on Taylor, and McKay is thoroughly acquainted, as a member of the wder po ice, with Geffrey.
