Xlie Supremo Court. Dukkoin October 4. Lewis Thompson, f r arson, was sentenced to seven years, Mary Docheity for a similar offence, to six months. Judge Williams said the latter was a proper case for the Crown to exercise its clemency, as the principal i Sender was convicted mainly through her exertions. Th Judge in dealing with the Chinaman’s case, eulogised the Probationers Act, but was satisfied that were he to ex’emi its opera tiens to Chinese it would n't have the effect of causing respect cf onr laws among them.
