CIVIL C ' BES. Ashburton Publishing Company v Fergus, claimed £4 3i 2 ;.—Judgment for the amount c'aimed and cr.sis. Rattray v Wolf, claim £212 Id.—Judgment for plaintiff by default for the amount claimed and cost’. Lancaster v Price, claims £4 Oa 51 Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed and coat, LUNACY, David Flola-, who had attempted suicide on Wednesday by cutting his throat and who appeared in Court looking very weak, was committed to Sunnyside on the certificates of Drs Ross and Tweed. Lies INFECTED SHEEP. Smith was charged on (he information of W. A. P. Sutton, Sheep Inspector, with offering for sale at the Tinwald yards on September 28 about fifty sheep which were infected with Hoe. The defendant saw he bad no knowledge of the sheep being Infected with lice.—The sheep had been dipped about two months previously. —The Inspector testified regarding finding lice on the sheep.—The defendant called Mr Thomas, who sa'd that the sheep came into the yards smelling of dip. If the dipping eld not kill the lice the person who had charge of the dipping was to blame. James Osborne and George Pocock were simllar'y charged. Both defendants pleaded gui ty, The oases were similar to the previous one The Magistrate said he wruld inflict the lowest penalty in each of the esses, £1 and costs. DRUNKENNESS. Jerome Camille, a very old offender, for drunkenness was fined 10s and coats, in default 48 hours imprisonment, VAOKANCY. Thomas Glenn, a blind man who refused to remain In the Old Men’s Home as an inmate, was charged with vagrancy. The Magia* rate said he had considerable difficulty la dealing with the case —Glenn asked to be committed to goal and, at his request the Magistrate ordered him to be sent to goal for three calendar months without hard labor. The Court then rose.
