Prisoners Hal) and Houston were taken back to Tlmarn by the express yesterday and taken to Titnaru gaol. There were a good many people about but as it was a “ surprise visit ’* bat few had time to catch a glimps of the prisoners before they were placed in the vehicle. It is understood that prisoners ware brought back so that they oan be consulted by their solicitors in preparing the defence ; also that Hall oan be consulted about the affairs of the late firm of Hall and Meason, which are said to be In a m ist deplorable condition. The rumour that (heir removal is i-> ro enaction with the exhumation of the late Oapt»>n Cain's body is entirely groundless. Prisoners leave for Christchurch again on Saturday morning. The authorities have not yet divulged a word respecting the analysis by Professor Og«ton, They state that nothing will be known of the testing nntU the trial of the accused Is concluded.
