Auckland, September 29. The Superintendent of Police his received a telegram stating that the cutter Sovereign of the Saas has b -en wrecked near Port Macquarrio, New South Wales. The wreckage, which was found there on the 26th Inst., includes a board with the name cf the cutter painted on it. it will be remembered that the Sovereign of the Seas was the cutter in which the Great Barrier murderers made their escape in June last. Over a month afterwards a strange vessel w s sighted near P. rt Mscquarrie, and it was substq'iently reported tbit Gaffrev, one of the murderers, had been seen in Victoria.
