THE MEDICAL PROFESSION.
TO THE FDITOR. Sir—.l have ofen not.c d that tbe press generally tells u* of those that rise in the world, but It does not vary often • ell na o f thor>a that fall. Noticing in iha Lyttelton Times about a certain doctor who had his hand paralysed throuchhaviog taken too much money. I venture to say that it is high time the p iblic’a attention was drawn to the fact that most doctors pockets are paralysed through not getting enough, not even the dues they honestly earn. I have no icad tbit tbe only due in htmdieds of cas;s they get is the dew of «he evening or ni.ht, while they are very often culled out in the middle of the night in hail, rain, and s’Get, to attend soma poor soul who perhaps will never repay them. Yet, as a rule, ihey never say “No” to any parson. I think some words of praise , to bo civen to these good Samaritans ; hence trespassing upon your valuable columns. Y> ure, etc , Ashburton.
