Wellington, September 22. His Excellency has received the following telegram from the Prince of Wales on the subject of the Col mial Exhiblt'oa. “Governor, Wellington “Referring to the suggestion already eommnnicated as to the permanency of the present exhibit ion, I now propose that the memorial of the Queen s jubilee should take the form of a permanent Imperial institution of the colonies and Ind’ftf comprising » display or colonial and Indian resources, oontril ut ona in aid of the institution to be solicited from the government, and public hero snl all p’rts of the Empire, to be vested in a board of trustees appointed by the sovereign under a permanent presidency of the heir epparent to the throne. I shall be glad to be favored with your vh ws by eab’e, and to hoar whether your Government is prepared to recommend an annual giant for a certain number of years, or, if pre pared, a sum down. The following is a copy of the memo to Ministers by Hi* Exe dl««nry 'he Governor in transmitting the Prince of Wales’ telegram ; “2 at September. 1886 Apart- from tbe pleasure tha* I tin sure the colony W >uld feel in identifying itself with tbe celebration of 1 he Queen’s jubilee, it would bo doubt be of great advantage to New Zealand to take pait In creating the institution referred to by Hla Royal H'ghneas the message of His P.oyal Highness is referred to Ministers with the u’most confidence that they will give (heir earnest consideration to this proposal. Wm F. Drummond Jervoi* " The following Is a copy of the telegr-m sent in reply by the Governor to the Prince of Wales ;
