The total reserve in notes and bullion is ;£i 2,600,000. Wool—At to-day’s sales 14,000 bales were catalogued. The market has a hardening tendency. September 17. The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,650,000 quarters. New Zealand mutton is selling at to 4j£d per lb. Australian beef tallow, fair average quality, 23s 6d; mutton, 265. .Wool—At to-day’s sales 11,500 bales were catalogued. The market is strong. The present series of colonial wool auctions will close on the 2nd October, SYDNEY, Sydney, September 18. New Zealand wheat is selling at 4s 2d, oats at 2s 6d per busuel; maize, 3s 6d per 561 b; sugar, No. 1 pieces, per ton.
