THE LONDON MEAT MARKET.

The London correspondent of the Daily Times, writing under date the 30th July, says:—The meat market has been stagnant daring the last few days, and prices have dropped to a farthing lass than at the time of last writing. Ihs Rimutaka, from Auckland, has cleared her 9487 sheep and 4590 lambs at 4£d to Gd for the sheep and 4d to 7£d for the lambs, and has disposed of 2400 out of her 3273 pieces of beef at 5d to 7d. The Coptic, from Napier, with 19,592 sheep, 3628 lambs, aud 104 pieces of beef has cleared, with the exception of a few hundred sheep, at 4jd to s£i for the sheep, &£d to 7d for lambs aud od to 61 for beef. The Opawa from Napier, has sold 3500 out of her 10,230 sheep at 4£d to SJI. The Tonkina, from Oamaru, has cleared her 12,326 sheep at 4£d to 5Jd. The Talnui, from Wellington, with 17,413 sheep, 1426 lambs' and 212 nieces of beef, has sold 6500 sherp at 4sd to I std to 6£ i, and all the oeef at s£d to 6d. ihe Ruapehu, from Ly e ton. with 14,000 sheep, 563 lambs, aud 120 pieesa , of beef, has sold 1500 sbeop at 4£d to sd, i sni 2CO lambs ft 6d to 6Jd ; the beef has not yet been touched. Ihe Matsur*, from Timaru with 6014 sh ep and 719 : 1 imbs, has sold 1500 sheep at 31 to 6d ; the lambs have not been touched- This cargo is reported “ uasatisfact< ry. 1 * The Invercargill's Port Obalmers cargo of 11,019 sheep aud lambs, and the Data 'in’s Oa i aru c .rgo of 9410 sheep, both reported Jgood” have not yet broken balk.
