Grey street, Ashburton, Sept, 10. rThe Municipal Corporations Act, 1886, L section 88, prescribes that “ any person is incapable of being elected to be, or of being a mayor or councillor who is concerned or participates (other than as a shareho’der iu an incorporated company, or in an association or partnership consisting of more than twenty persons) in any contract with or work to bo done for the Council, if the payment for such contract or work exceeds five ponni s for any one contract or work, or ten pounds altogether in any year if more than one contract or work.
