Detective Kirby conlinnedhis evidence, which consisted in his identifying vauons exhibits put in yesterday, end genera ly (Orrotorating the Insp ctor. tjiiks, watchhou&e keeper at the police station, deposed to a conversation be overboard between the two accused, in which Hall told his companion that she was crvte, but that he did not see how he could get bat of it. Four other constables went into the witnj ss-box before the Court adjourned at one o’clock, but their evidence wav purely formal, rnd no now features were elicited. The hearing is expected to last till the end of the week. Later. In the Hall c~io this afternoon, Cotter gaoler at Timatu, gave evidence ai to a letter which parsed between the accused from Houston to Hall beginning “ Dear Tommy Dodd.” and ending “ ever yours Megrims.” He had destroyed the lettsr and spoke from memory. O'rmsly, Solicitor, who prepared Mrs Ball’s will gave evidence that he did so at Hall’s wish, but he was not the Solicitor for him or bla wife.
