AUSTRALIANS v. SUSSEX.

The cricket match Australians v Sussex was resumed at Brighton to-day. The weather was fine and the attendance good. The Home team, who bad one wicket down for 24 runs on the previous day, continued their first innings, remaining at the wickets all day. When the stumps ffere drawn the score of the Englishmen stood at 322, with seven wickets down. The most successful batsmen were—J. H. Brain, 104; W. P. Lucas, 81; and W. Newham, 45. London, August 28. The cricket match, Australians v Sussex, was resumed at Brighton to-dsy. i The Englishmen continued their first innings which closed for 352 runs, F. M. ] Lucas, not out 93, being the principal scorer. The Australians, who were 152 behind their opponents on their first innings, went in for their second innings and at the conclusion of the days play bad seven wickets down for 300 runs* Scott, caught, 43 ; Palmer, caught, 84. and Trumble, not oat, 52, made the best scores for the visitors.
Time did not permit of the game being played out and the match was therefore declared drawn.
