A deputation from the Chamber ot Commerce, which waited upon the Pcstmastet General to-day s.trongly urged the necessity of continuing the subsidy to the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company in order to secure the reduction of the present high tariff between Australia and New Zealand. The Postmaster-General said he would take into consideration the views of the deputation and lay the matter before his colleagues.
