An Order-iu-Cuuu it has been Is-nad fixing the height of policemen at sft 9!n. They are on’y to be recruited from the perm meat militia force, and no one will bo eligible for the position of constable unless he has been three years la volunteer corps and one in the militia. Fresh regulations for the volnntaer force have been drawn up, and will be distributed immediately for comment by the varices corps in the c:uatry. The alterations aro not radical, nor do they interfere much with the present rules. Amongst other things it is proposed to increase class—firing to 60 rounds, instead of 40, and reward by the average shooting of the corps, instesd of individuals. The medical department is to be entirely re* organised. Country corps will have to attend 12 parades in future, and garrison corps 18; camps to count two.
