A libel action has been taken against the Hokitika Evening Guardian proprietor 1 for alleged false and malicious statements to Stewart Davson and Co, Dunedin whereby it was stated plaintiff’s newspaper, the Itoss Advocate and Guardian had ceased publication. The plaintiff claims £SOO damages. Fire. Christchurch, August 24.
Last night Andrew Savage’s horse at Pigeon Bay was borne i down. It was insured for £250 in the SoU.h Brtlsh. The cause is unknown.
