COLONISTS IN IRELAND.
Festivities.
[REUTERS TELEGRAMS—COPYRIGHT ] Londin, August ID The Indian and Colonial visitors now on a visit to Ireland proceeded yesterday from Dublin to Powercourt Castle, at Enniskerry, the seat of Viscount Powercourt, where they were entertained at lunch by his Lordship. The party afterwards drove to Bray, the seat of the Earl of Meath, where a banquet was given in their honor. Lord Brabazon, the eldest son of the Earl, presided, and in a speech dwelt upon the necessity of the eternal union of England and the colonies. Sir Saul Samuel, Agent-General for New South Wales, replying to the toast, said the assistance which had been afforded by New South Wales in the Soudan would be renewed by the colonies if required, and it would have the best effect upon the movement for the federation of the Empire.
