MISSING STEAMER.

SAFE ARRIVAL. Christchurch, August 18. The Wauaka arrived at Lyttelton at 10 30 this morning. She merely kept out to sea to avoid the lee shore. She experienced very thick weather, but met with no accident. At 7 on Wednesday month g she was off Aksroa, when<« the got up ro Lyttleton Heads The weather was so thick she oou’d not tee her way in so she put to sea again. She returned on I hursday morning but could not get In and want out again, getting rather too far nortl lithe evening the Wakatu, from ' Kaikoura, passed her and they exchanged signals by whistle. She followed the Wakatu towards Lyttleton, but lost sight of her, and was off the Heads last night burning blue lights, which were not observed.
