The following is the Cora Exchange report for the week ending Friday, 20th August:— The state of the weather has been most nnpropitious daring the past fortnight, farm work being brought to an entire standstill. Autumn sown wheat is reported to be very thiq ? and in lowhying lands a second sowing in many instances has had to be resorted to "Wheat has had heavy transactions to record, and prices are fairly well main? tained. The outlet has been chiefly for interprovincial orders. Piimo Tuscan pommands 4s 4d, ho* buyers are not so plentiful as they are for Pearl at 4s 3d to 4s 4d, and Hunter’s at 4s 2d. Second quality has been changing hands more freely at 3s lid to 4s Id, and chickwheat •is keenly competed for at 3s 6d to 3s 8d Oats are languid. The improved tone noted from Sydney has had no beneficial effept on this market, and quotations remain at 2s §d for milling, 2a 3d to 2a 4d for short" feed, end 3s to 3s 3d for long kinds

Barley.—Stocks of prime malting are not heavy, but buyers are not to do business at 3s to 3s 3d ; second quality is dull of sale, but feed sorts are enquired for at 2s 4d to 2s 6d.

Beans and peas are quiet at last quotations; occasional sale for seed requirements is all that can be noted. Grass Seed.—Both cocksfoot and ryegrass have an improving market. The former is worth 4£d for heavy seed, and machine'dressed ryegrass is firm at 5s 6d, and farmers’ parcels at 3s 9d to 4s 6d, according to grade. Potatoes are again slightly weaker, and few buyers aye in the market Prices ere * nominal at 45s to 6d at country stations for guaranteed qurlity. H'piry Produce. —A few orders have been to hand during the week, and for prime, in Sj dney shaped tubs, as high as lid has been paid. Cheese has an ordinary enquiry at 5d to 6£d, according to size and quality. The above prices (potatoes excepted) are for delivery f.o.b. Lyttelton.
