A happy and unexpected termination has been reached in the case of Boitan who was recently acquitted on a charge of obtaining by false pretences a sum of money amounting to £4OO. It was said it had been fraudently obtained, and was withheld by the Comt pending a decision and being claimed by A. D. Bennett, trustee under the Bankruptcy Act, Bolton being an bankrupt, it was decided by the Court that the money should go to the previous creditors A dividend of 10a in the pound has jus- been declared. £4O and private costs have been paid by Benett.

A small bailance hrs been handed over to the Official Assignee for the benefit cf the creditors in the nrw bankruptcy.
