[FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT J Wellington, Augaet 11. In the House this afternoon' the amend* ments of the Legislative Council io the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Bill were agreed to. The Representation Bill was read a second time, and its committal made an order for to morrow on a division, ayes 38, noes 28- It will, it is understood, be strenuously "opposed in its remaining stages, and it is quite pn the cards that this may result in prolonging the session hy a week. ; " The Houws then went into Committee on the District Railway (Waimea Plains) Bill, Rabbit Bill, Property Assessment Bill, and Settled Land Bill. It is said that on the District Railway Bill being reported the Government witl move its re-committal with a view to altering the amount to be paid in cash from £27,00Q tp £33,000. This will be sure to provoke an angry discussion, and there will almost certainly bp a'late sitting. ■-....
