I Proposed Conference. [KBUIXR’S TELXOBASIS COPTRX6HT ] London, 4ngnst 7. A deputation from the Federatiod League has been appointed to ask Lord Salisbury to convene a Conference, or appoint a Royal Commission, to report on the possibility of concerted action being taken in regard to defences, and to promote a closer union of the Empire. Forty members of Parliament will accompany the deputation.
