Fire. Auckland, July 31. Two houses were destroyed by fire last night at 11. SO, in Knrakara st'cot, Newton. One. belonging to Hurley, was iupuied for £l5O in the Ilanseath ; the other owned by Harding' for £2OO in the South British ; furniture for £l5O Very little saved. Illness. Warden Kcnrick, of the Thames, was seized with illness while on a visit to \ Auckland, and is now lying dangerously ill at the Northern Club. It is not expected that he will recover.
