ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET

At the Addington live stock sale yesterday, there were fairly numerous entries of stock to hand ; attendance of buyers shout an average one. Fat Cattle The rather small supply was barely sufficient for requirements ; quality a little above the average, demand fairly been. Clearances made at about the same rates, viz. 18-* to 203 nor lOOlba. Steers sold at from £5 to £8 5s , heifers, £4 15s to £7 2s 6d Pat sheep—A fairly heavy entry ; quality from medium to prime ; demand pretty fair, but irregular ; late sales about maintained. Crossbred wethers- sold at from 10a 6d to 14s 3d for prime, medium 8s 6d tolOs, crossbred ewes from 8a t-i 13i 3d, merino wethers from 8a to 12i 3d—an average price of, say, 2d per lb. A few store sheep were penned, but none were quitted at auction, most lines solo privately previous to public sale Sto-c Cattle—Not a large entry —demand not over brisk. ■ A line of throe-year-old steers In fresh condition so l d at £5 per head, aline of two-year-olds at £3 ss, and a line of two-year-old heifers at £2 12s 6d. Dairy market dull. A large entry of pigs on offer—baconers were in pretty fair demand, selling at from 24s to 40a per bead ; porkers, from 16a to 23i ; stores almost unsaleable.
