The first race to start at 12.30 p.m. Handicap Hurdle Rage, of 15 sovs, over eight flights of hurdles, about 3ft Gin high ; nomination, 10s ; acceptance, ss. Upen to district horses that have been regularly hunted with the Ashburton Hoa .de. Two Miles. Hunt Club Steeplechase Cop(handicap minimum weight lOst), of 30 sovs (trophy or cash ; nomination, 1 bov ; accepta*ces, 10a ; op-a to all qualified hunters ; amateur riders only. About three miles over fair hunting country. Selling Hack Race, of 10 bovs ; poet entry, 10s; no weight under flat; the winner to bo sold by auction immediately after the race, amount realised above 15 bovs to go to the funds of the Club, Three-quarter of a mile on the flat. Maiden Steeplechase Plate, of 15 bovs, for horses tha' have never won an advertised steeplechase; weight for age ; entrance, 15s. Open to all district horses that have boon regularly hunted with the Ashburton Hounds. About two miles. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be rec- ived except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom \ey may appoint ; their decision on all poi ts connected with carrying out this rogrummo to be final. 2. Grand National Steeplechase Rules adhered to when applicable. d A district horse shall mean any hoise; hall as been commonly resident in the Ashburton County from May 18, 1886, and up to the date of the forth coming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the said County during the same period.—A qualified hunter shall mean any horse that bus been fairly hunted, at least three time \ with any recognised pack of hounds during the season 1886. 4. Five per cent, will bo deducted from the gross of all moneys payable in accordance with this programme for expenses of the course. 5. All nominations and acceptances go to the funds of the Club. 6. An amateur rider shall be any person who has never ridden for biro, and who is a member of a recognised Hunt Club 7. Professional riders will be required to carry 71b extra, in all races to which they are admitted, except in Hack Race. 8. Nominations, accompanied by fees, name, age, description of horse, and colors of rider, and a master of hounds’ certificate as to the qualification, must be in ‘he hands of the Secretary not later than p.m. on Saturday, August 7. 9 Weights will be declared on Thin ' ay, August 12. 10.
