ERUPTION OF TARAWERA

Wellington, July 20.

The Speakers of both Hoasea and the Mayor met his Excellency the Governor to-day, to consider what steps should be taken for the relief of the sufferers by the Rotorua eruption. The Hon Mr Larnsch was also present. After some discussion, it was decided that a conversazione on a large scale should be held in the Parliamentary Buildings at an early date, and that the Hon Mr Miller, Hon Mr Walker, Hon Colonel Brett, Hon W. J. M. Larnacb, Mr J. M. Dargavillo. and Ur J. D. Lance being three representatives from each of the Hoasea, should be • Committee to carry out the arrangements. Juiy 20

Mr DargaviUe has given notice to ask the Premier if he will this session bring in a Bill to render the fund available for the relief of the sufferers by the Tarawera eruption.
