Result of Poll. Wellington, July 19. This evening the result of the poll on the Government Insurance Association resolutions was declared. On Mr Bell’s resolution :—“ That It is advisable that the Association should be returned to the charge of the Government," the numbers were given as : For ... 3183 Against ... ... ... 1508 On Mr Bell’s alternative motion “That the Board should be reduced to six members, of whom three should be elected, and another three should be the Solicitor-General, the Secretary to Treasury, ani either the Public Trustee or the Comm ssioner of Property Tax ; three to be a quorum if the chairman be present or four if tha chairman bo not present."
