[Before Mr H. C. S. Baddeley, B.M.] A JUVENILE ROBBER. Joseph Lamb, a lad about 15 years of age, was charged. (1) with the larceny of a silver watch valued at £4 IQs, the property of Joseph Mulhollen, (2) witn the larceny of a horse, value £lO, the property of James Johnston, (3) with the larceny of a bridle and saddle, value £2 10s, one rug, 10s ; two saddle straps, 2s ; two pieces of calico, Is ; one small brass padlock, Is i one small clover bag, 6d; the property of Gould apd Cameron, (4) the larceny of 28 cartridges, value 6s, the property of D. Cameron, (5) the larceny of one shirt, value Bs, the property of Wm. Elmslie.—lhe police asked that the second charge might be withdrawn, as the horse had since been recovered. There were a number of other charges against the accused, but as the goods had been recovered the police did not, "under the circumstances, deem it necessary to proceed with them. - The accused pleaded guilty to all the charges brought against him, —The Magistrate remarked upon the apparently incorrigible nature of the boy, he having already been convicted of forgery and uttering, and having served two sentences on grave charges of stealing. —After some consultation with Sergeant Felton as to what should be done with the accused, the Bench sentenced him on the first charge to one month’s imprisonment with hard labor, on the third to one montb’p imprisonment with bard labor, on the fourth to one week with hard labor, on the fifth to one week's imprisonment. An order was made that the accused should be kept separate from other criminals in the gaol. CIVIL CASES. Lancaster v Daber, claim £1 13s Id. Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed and costs. The Court then rose.
