Financial Statement.

The Colonial Treasurer made his Financial Statement in the Legislative Assembly last night. The revenue for the past year amounts to La,240,000; expenditure, La,300,000. The revenue is L 386,000 below the estimate. Customs have decreased by Li 45,000 and railway receipts by LBi,ooo. The total public debt amounts to Li 8,400,000. The revenue for the curtent financial year is estimated at L 2,100,000, and the expenditure L 2,200,000. The total deficiency is estimated at L 852,000, which is to be covered by iresh taxation amounting to Li 09,000, including stamp taxes, expected to realise L 65,000, and by a considerable reduction in the Civil Service.
