Robb v Rule claim £ls, Mr Wilding for (plaintiff, Mr Purnell for defendant. This was a case in which the plaintiff claimed the sum of £ls, which he alleged the defendant contracted to pay for feed for a number of sheep for three months. On the case be'ng called the plaintiff did not put in an appearance, but subsequently bis attendance was secured. He gave particulars of the claim, and was crossexamined at some length with reference thereto. J. Gough also gave evidence. The defendant alleged that be had only bad the use of the land for twelve days, and through the defective state of the fences he was compelled to send one of his men to continually look after the sheep, and repair gaps in the fences. He had offered the plaintiff £5 10s, but this was not accepted. If he had had the use of the feed for about three months, as he arranged, he would have paid the £ls. Counsel having addressed the Court, the Magistrate gave judgment for £7 16s 9d and costa.
