After questions this afternoon, the House went into Committee on the Counties Act. On clausa 52, which pro. scribes the scale of voting; (same as in Act of 1870), there were numerous attempts to reduce the maximum number of votes exercised under the Bill, but they were all unsuccessful. Progress was interrupted by the 5.30 adjournment. Messrs Holmes, Ivess, Steward, Harper, Mackenzie, and other members go south by the Hauroto to-night, return, ing on Monday.
