The cricket match Australians versus Eleven of Middlesex commenced to-day at Lord's. The weather was splendid and there was a good attendance of spectators. An excellent wicket was provided, and the ground waa in first class order

The Home team a eat first to the wickets, and were all disposed of for 259. The visitors then commenced their first innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had scored 96 without losing a wicket.
