The Home Markets.
The N. Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable message from its London office, dated June 22nd, 1886
Wool —The sales progress firmly. Greasy crossbred lambs' wool has advanced id per lb. since close of last sales, and for merino lambs the market is firmer. The Continental demand is good,and competition on French account is active. The total quantity catalogued to date is 64,000 bales, and withdrawals amount to 1500 bales.
Wheat market dull. Adelaide wheat is worth 35s 6d ; New Zealand average 325, and New Zealand long berried 33s per 4(;6lbs. Victoria wheat, to arrive per iron ship, is worth, c.i.f, 35s per qSolbs, May-June bill of lading. Quotations nominal. Good reports of Americian crops, and fair reports of Russian crops reacli us.
Tallow—Fine qualities are not in dimand, but there is a good Coniinental demand for lower and medium sorts. Good mutton and beet tallows are worth respectively, 26s and 24s per cwt. Leather market is unchanged. Frozen Meat. --Market quiet, and stocks arc increasing. New Zealand unit ion weighing per carcase 65 to 70 lbs, is worth 5 tjd per lb. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth ;d per lb.
