After the presentation of petitions, and the nsnai batch of questions having been pot and replied to, the greater part of this afternoon was taken up by the discussion on the motion for the second reading of the Criminal Code Bill. This Bill is substantially the same as the one introduced by Mr Conollj in 1883, and this is the fourth attempt to get it passed. Last year it was Introduced in, and passed through, the Legislative Connell, bat time did not permit of its being dealt with in the House. ITbete was some opposition shown to proceeding with it this session, bat Mr Tole stack to his point and carried the second reading on the voices. It is down for committal on Wednesday. The House then went Into Committee on the Coal Mines Bill, and had reached clause 16 when the 6.30 adjournment took place.
