CHEAP MONEY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Will yon permit me to aay that the last meeting on the above snbjecc was called at the suggestion of Mr Jvess, who desired to know the opinion of the Assooia tlon upon Mr Macandrew’e Bill. The veteran Otagan statesman is entitled to the warm thanks of all farmers for his efforts for the bettering of their condition, and the vital feature of his Bill, namely the direct assistance of the State, la one that would be the most rapid and advantageous. 1 have been compelled to aim at something lower and more cumbersome.
It would be a graceful acknowledgement of a debt owing to Mr Macandrew if he were Invited by the combined Fanners' Leagues to become their fl.-et President. I am etc., J. H. Newltn. July 7th, 1886
