Charge of Murder.

Auckland, June 18

Captain Reid, Foley, mate, and Mendoza. second mate, of the Petrel, arrived in custody this morning, and were lodged in the lock-up. They appeared at the Police Court in answer to an information charging them with murder on the high seas. On the application of the police the prisoners were remanded till hriday. They were removed to gaol. Before and after their appearance at Court the. prisoners were hooted by a crowd of over four hundred, and cries of “ Lynch them” were uttered.
