There are absolutely no political tumors afloat, and nothing in the shape of a party demonstration is anticipated until tho Public Works Estimates and Loan Bill are
brought down. In reply to a question, the Minister stated that tho Public Works Statement would probably be made next week.
In the House this afternoon after the usual batch of questions wore asked and answered—but none of them were on any subject of Southern interest —tho adjourned debate on tho Native Land Affairs Bills was resumed by Mr Bryce, who criticised the measure adversely. Mr Ormond followed in tho same direction, and concluded by moving that “ this day six months” amendment but subsequently withdrew it on the understanding that the Bill will (after the second reading be referred to the Native » ommitteo, Mr Beetham had risen to speak when the 5.30 adjournment took place. The debate will bo resumed at 7 30, when tho second rending will no doubt bo agreed to. Tho Gold Export Duty Abolition Bill is tho next order of the day, and the remaint U>r of the sitting will be occupied in Committee on the Municipal Corporations Pill, and possibly the Counties Bui.
