THE INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.
Wellington, Jane 4 The “Post” to-night states—“ Great dissatisfaction has been caused amongst prize winners at the recent Industrial
xbibicion by the contemptible meanness shown by the authorities in regard to the prizes won by the principal exhibitors. It will be remembered that the exhibits were divided into five main divisions, in each of which a gold medal was offered for the best collection of exhibits. These gold medals were awarded to Messrs Kitchen and Sons, the Great Meat Company, Messrs North and Scoular, Messrs A. and T. Bart, and Messrs Hallenstein Bros. A large number of classes were included in each division, and a first prizs of a silver medal was offered for each class. The parties named were each awarded a first prize in one or more of the classes, as well as the first prize in the division but on applying for the medals they have found that paper certificates have been subsituted for the silver medals they are entitled to as the first prises in the various classes,”
