London, Jane 1. The North of England match at Manchester had to be put off to-day on * account of rain. Play will be resumed to morrow, weather permitting. London, June 2. Following is the team selected to represent the Gentlemen in their match against the Anstraliaos, which commences at Lord’s' to-morrow:—C. W. Rock, Cambridge: S, Christopherson, Kent; W. G. Grace, Gloucestershire ; Lord Harris, Kent ; W. W. Read, Surrey; W. E. Roller. Surrey ;T. W. Scott, Middlesex ; G. G. Walker, Derbyshire ;M. C. Kemp, Kent; and G. F. Vernon, Middlesex.

The late heavy rains have rendered the wicket On the Old Trafford ground, Manchester, so heavy that further play in the match between Australians and North of England has been abandoned, a draw being declared in favor of the Home team, who wanted 40 to win, aud had 9 wickets to fall.
