News from Samoa states that the Deputy Commissioner gave judgment for Messrs McArthur in the action brought to oust them tom tho Samoan Islands. The Germans are greatly annoyed, but took no action. This is the first time tho Samoan flag has been hoisted sit.ee it wes hauled down by the Germans some months pg>. The German squadron have left Apia. The Diamond arrived just as the squadron left. She then proceeded to Fiji, The Mohican, American war ship, also arrived, and a cablegram was despatched to Washington from Auckland —“ Malietoa placed Samoa under protection United States onTOth ; granted ; Mohicm hero ; everything qniet.
