A special meeting of the members of the Ashburton Racing Club will be held at the club’s room on Saturday to discuss the new rules adopted by the metropoliton clubs. Professor Bice announces he will positively give his promised entertainment in the Town Hall this evening. The Professor will be assisted by Mrs Rice and Mr Lucas, and a most attractive programme has been prepared. We again remind our readers of the concert and ball to be given by the Ashburton County Hunt Club at the Oddfellows’ Hall on Monday evening. The full programme of the Concert is advertised in this issue. Monday next, the anniversary of the Queen’s Birthday, will be observed as a general holiday throughout the colony.
