i Sydney May 20. he details of the Budget proposals a ‘ s, -the Government are still under mu ussion in Committee of the Legisve Assembly, the imposition of five l )er cent ad valorem duty on a number of articles hitherto admitted free, and increase on the present duty otherwise, meeting with vigorous opposition from Sir Henry Parkes and his followers. Sir Henry threatens that if the pro_ posals be insisted upon, he will do his’ utmost to force a dissolution. Sir John Robertson also expresses himself opposed to the proposals brought down by Sir Patrick Jennings.
