MELANCHOLY SUICIDE.
At 9.40 this morning the body of Mr John Gorton, who baa carried on the business of a batcher at Hampstead for some years, was found hanging by the neck from a beam in the lean-to attached to bis residence. The deceased took his breakfast at the usual hour this morning, and afterwards paid a small account. His health and spirits, both of which have been impaired since the death of his wife some six months ago, appeared as usual. The deceased was 65 years of age, and leaves a family of grown up children. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
