NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT.
A mooting of householders was held at Mr W. J. Silooca'a-houae on Winter’s Boad last evening, to consider the advisableuess of taking steps to have the
district of Alleuton constituted a schoo
district, Thera were about forty jgentlemen present, and Mr W. J. Silcock was voted to the chair. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Kilworth, “ That we the householders of Allenton made application to the Board of Education for a school district for Allenton, “ An amendment moved by Mr Bean, “ That the Board of Education be respectfully asked to erect a school at Allenton as soon as they conveniently can ” was lost. The boundaries of the proposed district were suggested and referred to a committee consisting of Messrs Steeie, Craighead, Silcock, Gee, Sawle, Cox, and Potter, who were also deputed to carry out all the necessary arrangements towards the constituting of the district. i A vote of thanks to the chair brought the proceedings to a close. ]
